(1)	MEMBERSHIP
	A.	Classes

	B.	Criteria
		a)	Individual member or member representative must be 21 years of age or over.
		b)	Individual member or member representative must be permanent resident of Hong Kong.
		c)	Individual or member representative must be a Diamond dealer.
		d)	Corporate Member and Corporate Sponsor member must be any firm or company duly registered in Hong Kong for not less than three consecutive years.
		e)	Corporate Member must be involved in the import, export, wholesale, retail or manufacturing of diamonds and/or diamond jewellery for not less than three consecutive years preceding his/her application.
		f)	Corporate Sponsor Member must be trade or association relating to the diamond trade.
		g)	All applications shall be sponsored and seconded by two voting members of the Federation and shall be submitted with reference(s) from bank(s) and diamond trader(s) as the Executive Committee may stipulate.
		h)	An Ordinary Member who has been such for not less than one year and obtained written support of two voting members may apply to become a voting member.
		i)	Clean compliant record
		j)	Healthy financial standing
		k)	Willing to abide by the regulations of the Federation
	C.	Rights
		I		An Ordinary Member is entitled to all the Services and Benefit provided by the Federation as listed in “Service and Benefit for Members” (attachment 1)

	II        A Corporate Sponsor Member is entitled to :
	a)	enjoy all rights conferred on an Ordinary Member; and
	b)	appoint two representatives under one membership.
	III     A Voting Member is entitled to:
	a)	Enjoy all rights conferred on an Ordinary Member; and
	b)	Receive notice, attend and vote at a general meeting of the Association.
	c)	Be elected as a member of the Executive Committee (for individual) or appoint an individual as its member representative to elect and be elected as a member of the Executive Committee (for corporate)
	d)	Introduce visitors to the Federation; and
	e)	Introduce persons to become Ordinary Members of the Federation.

	E.	Duties
		a)		An Ordinary Member and Corporate Sponsor Member shall be required, upon admission as a member, to pay an entrance fee, which shall be non-refundable to the member under any circumstances after payment and shall pay Annual Subscriptions in Accordance with Article 33(a) hereof.
		b)		Upon admission as an ordinary member, the ordinary member must apply to join one or more of the divisions of the Association (Retail / Import & Wholesale / Manufacturing)
		c)		A Voting Member shall be required, upon admission as a member, to pay an entrance fee, which shall be non-refundable to the member under any circumstances after payment and shall pay Annual Subscriptions in Accordance with Article 33(a) hereof.
	(2) APPLICATIONS
	Applicants must complete the required application form and corporate details in full and submit the following to the Federation office at Suite 5B, Hong Kong Diamond Exchange Building, 8-10 Duddell Street, Central, Hong Kong.
	a)		Completed application & Corporate Details
	b)		A copy of the Updated Hong Kong Business Registration Certificate (Corporate Member)
	c)		A copy of Certificate of Incorporation
	d)		A copy of the latest Annual return
	e)		A photocopy of Hong Kong Identity Card of the applicant/corporate representative
	f)		3 photos of the Individual Member or Corporate Representative.
	g)		Reference letters from bank(s) and diamond traders(s)
